Chemistry Undergraduate Research Application
Use this form to apply for CHEM 391, 491, 492, and 493 each semester you plan on conducting research for credit. Once you have submitted this application, the Course Instructor will verify your position and proposed research project with the Research Advisor. Once approved, the instructor will then submit a registration override via Esther. No paper special registration form is required to be signed or submitted. Only the Course Instructor (not the Research Advisor) is authorized to enroll students. If you are applying for CHEM 492/493, please have your Research Advisor submit a recommendation letter to the Course Instructor by August 1st.

How many credit hours do you want to take? *
Students are expected to spend at least 3 hours per week for 14 weeks (or at least 42 hours over the course of the semester) for each credit hour. Students pursuing a B.S. Chemistry degree and applying for CHEM 391 should enroll in a minimum of 3 credit hours. Potential CHEM 391 students not pursuing a B.S. Chemistry or any student applying for CHEM 491 may enroll in more or fewer credits with approval from their Research Advisor. Students applying for CHEM 492 and 493 are required to take 5 credit hours each semester.
