The SFMTA’s Building Progress Program will update SFMTA’s old facilities across San Francisco to better serve our riders and to keep the City moving. The Potrero Yard is the first site scheduled for improvement within the program. Built in 1915, the Potrero Yard is obsolete and must be completely rebuilt to maintain our fleet of buses as efficiently as possible. The new yard will also accommodate our transition to battery electric buses. Visit sfmta.com/PotreroYard to learn more.
Tours take place rain or shine. In some weather conditions, a tour may be cancelled. We attempt to make weather cancellations as far in advance as possible and we will notify you by email that the tour has been cancelled. Tours may also be canceled due to other factors, such as public health ordinances.
GUIDELINES:
- Site visit waivers must be signed (either in person with photo identification or remotely via Docusign) to visit. (Minors must have parent or guardian permission.) **We will send information on site-visit waivers once you RSVP to a specific tour.**
- All tour participants must wear closed-toe shoes.
- No strollers allowed.
- Tours last about 60 minutes.
- Tour size is limited. (Sorry, but we cannot accept walk-up attendees. Each tour attendee must submit an RSVP.)
