You've just taken the first step toward something awesome!
Since you’re here, it means you’re curious about joining our vibrant UM Pride community.
We’re super excited to potentially welcome you aboard!
Our mission is to encourage a welcoming and safe space for both staff and students, where everyone can embrace their queer identity and connect with others in the local community.
We’re here to bring people together, encourage stepping out of comfort zones, and create a space for fun and meaningful connections. By enhancing skills, meeting new friends, and as well as spreading awareness about the unique challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community, we aim to build a supportive environment where everyone can thrive.

We recognize that your time is precious, and balancing studies, work, and other commitments can be challenging. We genuinely appreciate your interest in volunteering with us and want to ensure that your experience is fulfilling without being overwhelming.
To support you effectively and avoid any unnecessary strain, we ask you to let us know how much time you’re comfortable contributing. This will help us plan and allocate tasks in a way that suits your availability while ensuring you can make a meaningful impact.
If you still want to join UM Pride but don't want to commit on a monthly basis, there is a flexible hours option where we will contact you if we need extra help during our events/activities.
We have a mandatory meeting scheduled at least once per month (an additional meeting might be added depending on demands).
*The meeting is not compulsory for the flexible hours option but you are welcome to join*
Each meeting will include:
[Mandatory up to 2 hours per month]
- Discussion and Planning: Focused on discussing and planning our upcoming projects.
[Optional]
- Social Gathering: Prior to the meeting we usually host dinner and following the meeting, we’ll have a chance to relax and have fun together where we can enjoy games, good conversation, and just unwind.
