We are pleased to announce that the UC Davis Graduate School
of Management is able to continue offering the GSM Professional
Development Grant (GSM-PDG) to enrolled MBA students.
The grant is designed to support enrolled students during the 24-25 academic year to pursue professional development training, attend conferences, and participate in MBA-related business competitions.
The initial outlay will be up to $250 per student, one grant per student per academic year.
The school is able to offer an additional enhancement to the funding for the 24-25 academic year, starting fall 2024. A student participating in a competition that requires travel may apply a second time for an additional grant of up to $250.
Grants will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Awards will be paid out once receipts are submitted after the event has occurred no later than June 1, 2025. Receipts must be turned in within two weeks after the last day of the activity or event to the Registrar at [email protected].
Students must be enrolled at the GSM to take advantage of the PDG; this program is disbursed via financial aid so you do need an active enrollment to participate.
GSM Residentials are excluded from this grant as are any costs associated with the eos platform.
Coverage period is through June 1, 2025. The UC Davis Graduate School of Management (GSM) is delighted to continue to share funding to support students in their professional development journey.
In awarding this one-time grant, we seek students who:
1.) Actively contribute to the larger GSM community
2.) Plan to give back to the GSM by doing one or more of the following:
*Bring what you learned back in the form of a webinar or an in-person presentation that is open to all students
*Write a blog about the experience sharing key takeaways that can be shared on your LinkedIn profile and potentially GSM channels (pending school needs
*Other ways you are passionate about
3.) Continue to positively impact the school's learning environment while reflecting the UC Davis Principles of Community
4.) Show that the professional conference or competition meet specific career or professional development goals.
Other important criteria and information about the grant:
1.) This grant and the event must be in alignment with UC Davis Principles of Community.
2.) The conferences and competitions that will be considered must be related to business or a business field and take place in the continental US or online between June 2, 2024 to June 1, 2025. Please
note that neither GSM hosted networking events nor GSM courses (including Residentials) are conferences and thus DO NOT qualify for
this grant.
3.) Grant awardees will need to PREPAY all expenses. The awardee is required to submit original receipts for reimbursement up to $250 within two weeks post event. Reimbursement will take 4-6 weeks post-event to process and will be represented in MyBill.
NOTE: If there is an outstanding balance in your MyBill account, then the grant money will automatically be subsumed to pay off that debt.
4.) Applications will be accepted every Sunday by 11:59 p.m. on a rolling basis until funds are depleted. Grant applications will be reviewed every Monday (excluding holidays and campus closures) on a weekly basis.
5.) If a selected awardee does not use the full grant awarded, then the school will redistribute remaining funds until the yearly budget has been depleted.
6.) Upon being awarded the grant, you will receive an email with additional information on how to proceed.
7.) We will inform all the programs when the funds for the year are depleted.
Given that we are a public institution, we do not have ability to support other engagements beyond those outlined above.
