Single Bracket Instructions
2
How to use this
3
1If you can not edit the other tabs you will need to make a copy of the document for yourself. File --> Make a Copy.
4
5
Filling out your bracket
6
1Once the brackets have been released, the "Your Bracket" tab will populate with the teams in the tournament. Each battle has a dropdown that will only show the teams for that battle. Use the dropdown to pick your winners. ONLY EDIT YELLOW FIELDS!
7
8
Keeping Score
9
1The 'Your Points' tab will automatically score your bracket against the actual results after the matches take place.
10
11
Viewing the Actual Results
12
1The 'Tournament Results' tab will show you the actual results of the tournament in near real time. Do not edit the Tournament Results tab.
13
14
How This Works
15
1The 'Tournament Results' tab uses the importrange() function to pull data in from a master spreadsheet. Jeff maintains the master spreadsheet and will update as quickly as possible. Make sure you don't edit anything on the 'Tournament Results' tab otherwise your bracket will stop working correctly.
16
2The 'Your Bracket' tab uses the 'Helper' tab and data validation to allow you to pick the associated teams for the given games.
17
3The 'Your Points' tab takes your choices and compares it against the 'Tournament Results' tab and assigns scores accordingly.
18
4On the 'Your Bracket' tab, you'll see indicators about each battle once they have been played. If you picked correctly, you will see "Yes!" in green above the battle. If you picked incorrectly, you will see a red background with the actual winner of the battle.
